As our world continues to thrive in the digital age, it is more important than ever to understand how software affects us. Working in pairs, students will develop problem solving and critical thinking skills which will be useful in all aspects of their education and life. Through the use of a variety of hands-on and computer-based activities, we will create programs to solve problems and develop interactive games and stories. While learning to program, students will be introduced to key logic concepts and take the first steps on their journey to being able to communicate with and about the digital world that surrounds them. All progress will be stored through code.org so that students can share their progress with parents. No prior coding experience is required. Tablets will be provided for use during class time. Returning students will be challenged with new projects.
